The company had a very successful first license season of six exploration wells from 2001 to 2008, establishing the Faroes as a significant player in the international oil industry. The company adheres to a zero tolerance injury policy, which it has successfully met since inception. The company was ISO 9001:2000 Certified in 2008 by DNV.

Base Expansion

The municipality of Runavík, where Atlantic Supply Base is located, and which is responsible for management of Runavíkar harbour, is committed to providing the company with the best possible framework to operate within. Part of this commitment is to continuously expand the harbour area and the quayside in line with the increasing activity on the base.

In the summer of 2002, the first phase of the harbour's expansion programme was completed, adding 4.000 m2 of harbour area and 100 m of quayside with minimum depth of 12 m to the existing facilities on the base. The additional capacity now available will allow Atlantic Supply Base to expand its activities beyond the Faroes waters to the United Kingdom Continental Shelf (UK CS), West of Shetlands and the Northern North Sea.

The next phase of the harbour expansion programme will be initiated as and when the activity level on the base justifies so doing.
